For the first burn of your candle, it's important to follow a few simple steps to ensure you get the most out of its burn time and fragrance:

1. Allow the wax to melt across the entire surface – On the first burn, let the candle burn long enough for the wax to pool all the way to the edges of the container. This prevents tunnelling and ensures an even burn for future uses. Ideally, this should take around 2-4 hours.
2. Trim the wick – Before lighting the candle each time, trim the wood wick to about 1/4 inch. This helps prevent excessive smoke and promotes a steady, clean burn.
3. Keep the candle away from drafts – To avoid uneven burning, make sure the candle is placed in a draft-free area.
4. Don’t burn for too long – It's best not to burn your candle for more than 4 hours at a time to prevent the wax from overheating and maintain the wick's integrity.
5. Let the candle cool completely. After each burn, let the candle cool before relighting or moving it to prevent accidents.
6. Embrace the Melt Pool: To ensure an even burn and maximise the lifespan of your candle, allow it to burn until the entire top layer becomes a luxurious melt pool.
